What do y'all think of them? I've recently had a couple of my friends ask if they should look into them for their late model car, a Dodge Avenger (nice car ). For the cost, I told them to go for it. But, now that I think about it more, are they all that necessary for late-model cars? I can see the direct benefit in older cars where the seals may be loosening, rotting, not-there, etc. I also thought with the outer lip, that it would eat up some of the speaker to metal vibrations.

Any thoughts? Thanks

I only use them where water may be a problem.

In my brother's Avenger, I simply mounted his RF Audiophile 6.5s right to the stock plastic bracket - after cutting the back off so they would fit! With the door fully covered in VBlock mat and a can of spray on each skin, those babies slammo'd! You could turn off the sub and they still rocked on!

Dukk,

They still make Audiophiles? If so, I'm there!! Almost got me a pair of those back in 95, but was a foolish mortal and went with Series 1 (not a bad choice, but should have dished out the extra beans...learning exp .)

Just installed those particular ones in a friends Z24 a month or so ago!
