i believe that is a 1 ohm rated power. they are very similar to the RF Power 50 amps.

i could pick them up new for $300 3 years ago.

I wouldn't pay more than $225 for that amp in great condition.

Don't run that amp at anything lower than 4 ohm bridged/2 ohm stereo. It's a great sub amp, though. I have mine pushing three 12" 12-ohm Thunder 5000s and it does its job pretty well. It really sucks a bunch of power, though. FYI, I bought mine new about 6 months ago for $320 (shipping included). I'd say it's a decent buy, especially if new. Oh yeah, they're underrated, too, if you can keep the voltage up.

Forgot to add . . . that 750 watts is "dynamic power" at bridged 4 ohms with 14.4 volts. At 12 volts, it's rated at 600 watts into 4 ohm mono. Hope this helps.

You could look into the budget class D's...
Memphis, Crossfire...
Possibly Audiobahn, Autotek etc. as well.
I'm sure you can find one cheap... all do
1000W+ RMS

I have 2 Crossfires for sale...

I've got three of the MTX 2300X (New style), and they run pretty hard.

Only flaws:

-Get hot enough to cook an egg
-Inefficient enough to require power upgrades
-Really about that 2Ohm stereo/4Ohm mono impedance
-Did I mention Inefficient?
-Picky about the source voltage, Had one become a smoke generator once after the system voltage dropped below 11Vdc. Didn't realize that I had blown a battery isolator, and had to pull and re-work my amp...

But they kick @$$ for output, sound clean, good damping, and most of all, are simple and straight forward.

Well i have to put in my two cents. I don't know what mtx 2300 amp you guys are talking about but from what i herd and seen the mtx 2300 is one of the most efficient class a amps ever made. If you guys don't believe me ask doug iske. Also this amp put out more like 850 to 1000 watts. Nov./dec. 1996 issue of car stereo review...870.2x1@4ohm...shutdown time-did not shut down. This amp retailed for $650 and was a bargain at that price. Name a amp that puts out 850-1000 watts thats a class a amp and retails for less then $650. So if you can buy them for $300. I would buy as many as I could. Oh ya also the Auto Sound & Security August 1997 mag. did a review on this amp also.

I am not sure but I think the 2300 is a class ab amp. I have a 2300x (newer version) and it does about 850 watts with 14.4 volts. I think they are pretty inefficient from my personal experience. The 2300x can be had for 360 from www.tms-electronics.com
