I was wondering how good the build quality of this amp is? Comparable to the JBL 1200.1 or better? I want a subsonic filter on my amp so I'm leaning away from the JBL

I started out with that visonik and was dissapointed with the power output from a stock electrical system. I used it to run 3 infinity perfect 10's and then a 12w7. I switched to an unmodded mmats d300hc and it had more output on the w7 than the visonik. I've never owned the 1200.1 but I have an 80.4 and it's build quality is much better looking/feeling than the visonik. I'm not an expert on amp boards or heat sinks but the JBL had much thicker gauge metal and the Visonik just seemed really cheap to me. Their is a dinky fan in the middle of the board. It's a decent amp for the money and I didn't run into any technical difficulties but I think if I were to do it all over again I'd buy a JBL and external subsonic filter. IMO

I was thinking about this very subject just the other day. We ran 16 Visonik 900XD amps at Finals in Extreme 1-2. In order to get the most out of the amps we bridged them into a 1 ohm load, ran them on 17+ volts DC, AND cut the protection out of all of them. Then, after the show, we ran the car for many 30 second burps at 30hz with the door open. Basically, it made for a torture test for these amps and they performed flawlessly. We have not blown one amp in about 6 months (after I learned not to mount them to the back of the speaker box...lost two learning that lesson!! [Big Grin] )

Just that they are slightly more powerful than two of the 900XD's, they are approx 26" long, and they will be here in less than two weeks.

Oh yeah, AND the fact that they are just something to get us by until Joe gets off his lazy butt and finds us some REAL POWER!!! [Eek!]

I picked up 16 V900xd amps a few days ago, havent had time to play with them at all, but there qualitly looks good inside and out.

we wil lbe strapping them into a 1.1ohm load and have 17+ volts to them

We have 24 8volt GNB batts think this should be good paul?

I know you ran PAUL CAPS did you find they drew alot of power?

Also could you drop me an e-mail about the protection, much appreicated

Lemiski...I had 8 8volts on 8 amps and no alternator and it was ok...there was a big drop in voltage but it worked...so you should be fine with 24 batts on 16 amps

trying to sell this amp locally here to....

get a different amp, like a rockford, mtx, better audio, concept or something...

because each time i post visonik my amp, everyone say its crap, and its overrated what people say...so i highly doubt i'm getting 1500watts a 1ohm...probably like 1,000
