Is anyone familiar with Power Ackoustic "Fire & Ice" amplifiers for SPL and/or SQ. I think that they are pretty nice looking amps, but you should never judge a book by its cover. Any help here is appreciated.

In this case it is true.....Don't judge it by it's cover....I honestly don't like these amps, I used to have to sell them......I ran 2 apache 2200, the biggest amps PA makes on 1 15.....did a 143.....two weeks later that store put a Nexus Lion on it, in the same car, and same box I built and did a 151....

Just 3 words for you....

DON'T DO IT !!!

My brother had a "400 watt" PA a while back.. it gave decent output for a lil while.. but I would have put my 180 watt(max) Kenwood up against that 400 watt wanna be... and I guarantee the 180 watts was louder!!! ( same subs.. same box.. same car)

Thanks for the advice, guys. Although it may be just your opinion, I trust it. There is no better way to judge equipment than by others experience with it. I didn't think they were going to be a good bet, but they do look cool in the dark, hey?

I owned one of these back in 99' or so and it did pretty well for awhile on two 15" mtx 5000's.

My memory lately sucks though, must be the water.

So don't take this as 100% fact...

As I remember the amp started to blow fuses and then stopped working???
