I go on long trips sometimes and like to play my music loud for long periods of time, but lately my amps have been running hot, but it I turn the volume down it will play forever. I want to get the Audiobahn because of the Dual cooling fans. Is the Phd2 going to sound like it's putting out more power than the Audiobahn? Is the Audiobahn worth the money and will it put out 2400watts?

get the bahn amp, the D2 is not the cleanest amp in the world, but for SPL and the dollar per watt field, the D2 wins all the way. The bahn amp will prolly only do about 1800-2000 watts. I would also suggest a cap or extra battery with this amp, it is class AB and will suck some current.

If I had a digital camera Id show ya but My amp rack i just built at work for 2 PHD2 amps. I took the bottom of the amps off and built a small screen for both and mounted them to the amp rack and the amp rack had holes in it where I placed fans to keep the PHD2 amps cool. Honestly i havent really seen one get hot but its better saft than sorry. I plan to run the PHD2 amps at 1 ohm all day long [Smile] But On the real side the fans I bought I hope keep those amps cool and maybe ya never know help clean up some of its power at lower ohmage. meh i doubt it but ya never know.

any other replies on this post? I am also interested in the 2300 and the d2 but dont know what to get. I had a d2 before and know they put out some power but i may just get the audiobahn amp to try it out...also i like the looks, but whatever i get has to push these extreme 12"s good(for daily driving) so i would like clean power.
any opinions?

My old a2200hc had the dual fans and it never got hot, even though it was run all day everyday and I never had a single problem with it. It was 10x cleaner than my d2's, and as far as power comparison, the a2200hc was louder than the d2, and that's a 1600rated watt amp compared to a class d 2000watter. The Audiobahn is worth the money and will putout the power and then some. You can see as much as 2500watts given the proper power supply. It's a hell of a lot cleaner power too. If my 2200 ate up a d2, I'm sure the 2300 will do the same and then some baby! [Wink]

Thanks for that feedback. I love the look of the 2300HCX so I will probably get the Audiobahn. Keep the opinions coming.

I'd stick with the bahn as well. How many of those have you heard of blowing up for no apparent reason? [Roll Eyes] I know from experience. [Mad] [Mad] [Mad] [Mad] [Mad]
