yes, i know i am comparing to different ohmage amps, and you are probably thinking that i should be comparing to the D200hc, well i need to compare to the 100hc...here is the reason, i want to run 3 Eclipse 8808 dvc subs. The D100hc runs into .67 ohms, while the 1000d, runs into 1 ohm. However, a local CFA dealer, told me that the Crossfire amps would be stable down to half an ohm. True? Anyways, i was wondering if there would be much difference in SQ between the two amps? I realize the Mmats is a more powerful amp than the CFA, but how do they compare harmonically? The amp that i had really wanted to run, was the USA 400, but, as i only have the stock alt for my toyota 4x4, that would probably be a bad idea..even if i ran extra batteries. Anyways, on another note, how much wattage would you guys recommend running to each sub? I was thinking around 400 to 500, per sub, but how much would they really handle? Well thanks for the help Grant

it will run at half-ohm, but if you intend to run it that way for long time i'd advise against it. i ran one of mine that way for a while, and it got a little hot and the gains had to be down real far or it would shut down for a second now and then. If you were running it at 1 ohm i'd certainly recommend the crossfire, but in this situation the mmats is perfcet for your need.

Alright...what about the Memphis 1000d?? I heard that it was considerably more stable than the Crossfire? they have the same boards, but supposedly chassis, etc. are different. Anyways, will the 1000 watts be enough for 3 of the 8808s? Thanks

Thunder -n- Lightening is right. The d100hc is optimal for your needs. If you're interested, I'm getting rid of my d100hc for $450, which includes the shipping. It's in mint condition, aside from a very, very, very small paint nick on it. It's been used for 2 months, back and forth to work (around 2 hours total moderate use). I'm selling it because I bought a MMATS baby d100 in order to compete in the Street Class. Let me know if you're interested.

Those Eclipse subs can take over 1kw apiece... optimal is around 600 watts or more though if you want to run them at their full potential. They will still sound really good on 400-500, but for SPL give them as much as you can...
