I know it's not rated to run at 1ohm, but can it do it?. I've never tried, and I'm getting a DVC 2ohm sub, so I'd like to get the most power out of the ZR240 until I get a new amp... So does anyone know if it will run at 1ohm?.

I have a zr240 and had been runnin it at 2.66 ohms. It gets hot, VERY hot (but not it's replacement, the A7HC so i hate to see what kind of food you can cook on it at 1 ohm. I don't believe that Kicker recommends a one ohm load on it and I thought it put out the same power at 4 ohm and 2 ohm mono. Someone correct me if I'm wrong....

no, it puts out more power at 2ohms then it does at 4ohms... it's rated at 240watts at 4ohm mono, 300watts at 2.66ohms mono, and 300watts at 2ohms mono..... So you guys dont think I'd be alright trying it?. P.S. I used to run the ZR240 at 2ohms ALL THE TIME, and it never once got hot... I wonder if something is wrong with yours?.

well, i think that it may be due to the fact that i live in southern Louisiana (95+ degree F summers, 37C, plus 90% humidity or more. 100% humidity with no rain or fog sucks big donkey d--k), and it was in my trunk with no fan or air circulation (til much later on). I had sent it back to kicker for repairs once (bad solder joint), no other problems though. Hot yes, but never shut off!
