I have a friend that needs a new amp. He has a pioneer 12" handles 400watts. The brand amps he can select from will prob be:
-RF
-Orion
-Pheonix Gold
-MTX
-Ultimate
-Alpine
I dont want to start any wars, but i needed to ask cause i dont know the amp field that well. I was thinking of recommending an rf, alpine, or Pheonix Gold to him.

Hey I usto own those verry same subs. They were good for beginners but serriously I wouldn't try to build a system arround them I would go with something else. If he isn't trying to get a large ammount of bass then they are fine I guess but first thing I would deffinitly try to get different subs..
about the amps well you could get a RF 250a2 or if you want to push the subs try a 500a2 but they are going to run up a small bill...
also the PG xs 2300 is decent for these subs or maby you don't want to spend over $300 you could get a MTX 275x that is a decent amp I usto have a MTX 275x pushing 2 pioneers and it was good to start with but my best advice is to get better subs first because I know once you start with bass its like an addiction and you just have to keep feeding it and feeding it and feeding it and feedi......

For the one 12, go with the RF 250a2, it'll push it with change, and can be had for 200 bucks. He's got an impp, don't he? (I personally think they're darn fine usbs for the money)

Its actually the ts-31c its like 10 bucks cheaper but he got a kicker zr120 and two mtx thunder 4000's. We only have one sub hooked up 4 ohm mono cuz there isnt enough room for both of them. It sounds pretty good. He got the amp for 200 and the subs both for 100

i'm not a big fan of alpine, subs, amps speakers but the decks are good. anyways i'd say go with PG, RF or MTX either one of those would be a great amp. i'm running an MTX Thunder 250X right now driving a single PG QX 12" and it bumps pretty darn good. PG has some very sweet power, and RF has awsome prices and a thump. either way ur off with a good amp
