Most all the 45's were decently efficient amps. It's small for 4 10's but you will get some bump. How old a 45? Posts: 926 | From: Sugarland, Tx | Registered: May 1999

4 mono and 2 stereo will be the same total power. We used to run them 2 mono all the time, but take it easy on an old guy...
How to guestimate the generation of old Punch 45s from newest to oldest: Punch 45hd w/speaker outs on harness Punch 45 w/speaker outs on harness Punch 45 w/speaker outs on harness with fuses Punch 45 w/speaker outs on harness and internal fuses Punch 45 with the upside down heatsink.

Thanks for all the reply's. I appreciate it. Sound like I should probably upgrade to a little more power, stick w/2 10's for now, then upgrade to (4) later. Thanks for the insight.
This is a very informative board....
BTW - Does anyone know the ACTUAL wattage that these old punch 45's put out?
Thanks again, Tony

Generally the older 45's would do at least 85 watts with a solid source of power. The newer 45's could break into the 100-115 range. Doing 2 ohm mono could get more out of them but I would only do that to the early 90's models and not the late 80's ones.

If you all don't know by now, I am still running my Punch 45HD mosfet on two JL10W1-8s. The set up hits 137 (with a low tuning freq, too) so its got some "punch".
It won't push 4 10s, though. I was thinking of running it 2 ohm mono(on 2 JLW3s) just to see what it can do before I retire it.
