Chit that is too low for any amp in street classes. It will also depend on box rise. If you start out with that impedance and box rise is just at one or higher, it may be okay. But if not, here come a puff of smoke from any amp!

I've heard of at least 2 people burping the Cactus 7k's that low so the 5k's should probably also do it.

James Herren did it at 0.25 strapped ONCE, but he explained to me that he had to do alot of funky stuff and role it up manually to get the amps to stabilize. So I know it can be done, but regular burping, continuously, on a consistant bases, I doubt it! But if you think so, go for it!!

man this post is stupid, because it all depends on the man behind the controls and the set up.

I know peeps who tested the B2 m12 amp at 0.35 strapped, no probs as long as the volume gain on the HU was scrolled.

I even tried 0.125 back in the days on an amp that was already strapped.

0,17 depends on box rise.
I burped my old DD Z1 @ 0,125 and rise to 0,5 [Big Grin] [Big Grin]
But newer amps will se min. 0,75 means you should have a rise factor 4,5!
If you use a "good" Sub with flat wire coil it should work!

PS: Best 5kw out ist the new Cactus K5 [Big Grin]

James was there when we did it, actually he's the one that told us to try it. It was in my brothers crx for usaci last year, it did a 162 in 1801-3000 stock W/2 5k's and 6 L7 12's. All I have to say is some decks roll slower than others [Big Grin]

Yeah, as I was saying, straight burping using the atenuator or mute roll up may not work. The deck may roll volume too fast for that impedance. You may need to roll up the volume manually and slower then just a straight out burp. But if any 5kw amp can do it, I am sure the Cactus Power Fighter 5kw can.

We used the older 5kw's with an alpine mute roll, just have to use the ones that have a slower roll(; Needless to say I havent been able to get my deck back in over a year..lol. I would like to try the new 5kw's and see how much of a differance there is against the older ones.
