is it normal that when u are setting the amps that an amp goes in protect after 10-15 sec playing without a load battery voltage was not too high amps where running at 3/4 power -------------------- Team Cactus Sounds platinum member

it was just 1 off 12 amps and 4-5 times the same amp not immediatly and only with signal input -------------------- Team Cactus Sounds platinum member

Seems like a bad connection... Or it could be something loose inside the amp? Does it go into protect with a load if you adjust at low volume? --------------------

i had time to adjust the amp to the rest and a test burp was fine also its just that when all amps are on playing but without a load , then after 10-15 sec it goes into protect -------------------- Team Cactus Sounds platinum member

then u got a bad amp then, i had had a simaler problem my self turned out it was my ground wire wasnt getting full contact, sorry couldnt help more best of luck 2 ya

Tried a different set of RCAs on that one particular amp? --------------------

is it over heating? i know its only 10-15 sec but if its warm at all.... that would be internal id open it up and look for a loose wire or a posible burn on the sercite board> my have a broken wire floatin in there caseing an arc cross the circits>

overall voltage on the batts was 16.8-17v rca where new i have not clamped yet since the car was just ready from the rebuild and only did a small soundcheck to see if its working i will see if i can make some good tests today -------------------- Team Cactus Sounds platinum member

just did some tests checked all wiring , it was ok then got all amps running with subs on low volume for about 1min did the same on a litle higher volume nothing happend then started burping went up to a 163 and all was fine red light never came on i think it could have been the voltage with the unloaded amps when amps are not loaded the voltage dont drop much when amps are running -------------------- Team Cactus Sounds platinum member
