I have 2 mtx 92001 I wanna use for a local show... any advantage to strapping them @ 1 ohm, or running one per sub @ 1/2 not strapped other then just one gain compared to matching gains?

strapping is the way to go, if subs are in same box and even if they aren't it is good... I say do it

either way you end up with the same impedance.

When you strap each amp sees half the impedance.

When you run individual you usually get a little more power, which I believe is just efficiency?

Its usually just a few hundred more watts though and its easier to just set 1 gain instead of trying to gain match

X2, but in my case I get about 800 watts more by running unstrapped instead of strapped. The reason why is because my impedence rise is so high. It's able to make more power since it's split up between two amps and not all in one load.

i wonder how much voltage-current phasing plays into causing some of that Zach
