I've heard some good and some ok comments about power acoustik. I'm interested in the BMAF and STAX series. Dose anyone have any experience with these amps or know someone who has? I'm looking for facts more than opinion cause everyone has their favourites.

They may be entry level but they work very well.

They are very good entry level, backup amps. I have one for almost 8 years now and it's still going strong! It all depends on what you want to do with it.

I was wanting to use 2 BMAF or STAX
5500/1D to push 2 TSW8102SPL. I got a good deal on the subs but forgot I need something to bring these monsters to life. This is my first true install and I finally got more than one car so I can still get around. I'm hoping to get into the rookie class just to see what I can do.

well, just remember, its 80% build and 20% equipment! Know your equipments limits and don't go past that for a daily driver and you'll be ok. As for comps. again know your limits. Don't try to push your stuff if you don't have the power to push it. you'll only end up with magic smoke!

1: Build right
2: test and test again
3: make the changes you feel needed.
4: enjoy your first build!

We ran a A3000DB @.25 for burps. Did almost 150 Db's on 2 10"American Bass VFL Extremes, in a Ford Aspire. The amp never got hot and never failed. I would highly recommend 2 of these instead. Notice they don't have any fuses built into the case?
