Everyone wants to run a dammm gajillion watt amp at 0.5 ohms!!! What the hell for?!?!? Amplifier technology is out advancing the speaker technology. Most subs cant take more than 1500rms. If you run 4 dual 2 ohm 15's at one ohm, after box rise (4x), each sub may still get a little over 1000 watts. Thats 4k in your ear on music. Why the hell would you want more than that!!! Geeeeezzzz!!!!

actually the power sent by the amp on a daily use with normal music (considering a good battery system) will depend mostly of the crest factor of the signal being fed on the amp.
Example:
Music with 10dB of average crest factor will reduce the max power output of the amp by 10dB (10x).
Also the power compression on subs play an important factor, normally a very good driver will have a 3-4dB loss at full power, due to the increase of the Re of the coils (coil at a high temperature, this explains why the system is always louder just after you turn it on, hehe)
The impedance rise, on the other hand, won't be as high as the one we have on burping a competition box (normally 3 to 5 times the Re), it is an average of all frequencies being played, I've seen low as 1.5Re.
