Many Mom and Pop electronics repair stores can't fix big Class-D amps -- I've asked a few local shops near me and they just can't do it. I send 100% of my repairs to dB-R across the country in Texas.

I have never had prob's with amp repair center the only prob i have seen from them was getting parts for some amps due to lack of product getting sent to them so they can fix the amps the prob with this is over seas its hard to speak with them they just some times have hard time understanding what is going on don't get me wrong stetsom amps are good amps. but when i was the rep this is the prob i ran into with getting amps repaired. if the Manufacture is using them to repair amps well they need to get the parts to the repair shop so they can do warranty work.
Same thing goes to abass and dd the prob with the dd stuff is that dd is not selling the big amps here only over seas from what Steve sead to me the other day so on that note if they don't have parts to fix how is it amp repairs fault that dd cant get them the parts to fix if they don't even have any one to get the parts to do so.
my abass amps i sent to Scott is still working to this day and that was 2 yrs ago nice job Scott.
See the prob with some of ya is that you exspect stuff back the next week some times its not like that and some shops get real busy and some times manufacture don't want to let parts get sent to repair shops cause they want stuff to get shipped back to them so they can rape ya on repair. some times they just cant get the parts this is why ya need to do some home work and shop around.
lets put it this way there is a lot of good amps out there but my first choice will all ways be a hand built amp due to the availably of parts and warranty i know i can send it back and it will be fixed the prob with production built is in a yr or two parts are changed out for new stuff that comes out and to stock all them parts is not that easy. why change something that don't need be changed if you have something that works just exspand off it don't redesign something that works good.

TJ... I hear you buddy and even sent my amps to ARC based on your recommendation but my issue goes beyond finding parts or doing a good job.
Hit me with a PM if you want details..

ARC is one of the absolute worst places to send an amp to get fixed. I had 2 500.1's that I sent there and everytime I got them back the never worked right, same parts would break and then you send it back and they dont honor there warranty. They tell you that its a different problem with the amp even tho the same exact parts are bad. They charge an incredible amount of money too imo. In total I had my amps out for repair 3 times each @ $375.00 a piece plus shipping which was another $65 each amp each time. A local guy does great work in my area and the last amp that I got back from ARC didnt work right out of the box so he opened it up and was horrified at the butchery that he seen inside the amp. My other amp was still there being repaired yet again and I told them to shove it in there @$$ and keep it because I wasnt paying for the repairs that they did. IMO STAY AWAY FROM ARC, nothing but problems!

I decided to comment on this topic. A friend of mine who knows a lil bit about amps came by my place 2 weeks ago while I was around and about, and he asked if he could take one of the mtx 81000d's that I had previously sent to ARC and after a few months, they returned it saying it was unrepairable. He cracked open the top of the case, to find a plastic zip lock baggy w/the clips and some other stuff in the bag and noticed that all the mosfets had been removed and none were in the bag. I'm not sure what else may have been removed and not replaced, but today I sent them an email asking what the deal was, as if I send it to another place to have a tech go and repair this amp, the first damn thing they're gonna have to do is replace all the mosfets on the board before they can even diagnos the real problem. I do see a problem w/this! otherwise, I don't plan to do business w/them again due to lack of shipping times and other problems I have experienced w/them. Sorry, but its the truth
