put a 1F cap isolated to the headunit. that should keep the deck on during your burp. Use several large diodes or light guage wire to keep it isolated

Finally got a decent amp meter. I tested the amp on a NSBg2400 battery street A style. I got close to the power I predicted: Charging battery with alternator and shutting off car before testing
Starting voltage 13.4v Voltage drop 9.4v 76.8 volts 68.5 amps 5260.8 watts
Which is very good power from this amp off of a group 2400 battery. I think I will change batts and go with the group 2700 this year. With a stronger reserve, it should give more power. Done testing will see you all in the lanes.

I dont want this to be a pissing match, but I have to say it, the AB1000.1 is essentially two amps in one. Which would make it a little more efficient. Which I can admit, made it the badboy of the block.....until now! (Just messing with you Tom). But after that the voltage drops, it shuts down/goes into protect. This Elite 12 keeps on going. Now this is why I love this amp: I have only one run of each wire to each terminal and the battery I am using is beat to hell! Not even a true group 2700. I am picking up a brand new stinger 1700 today and will be doubling up my power wire. And oh I forgot to mention also, I held the burps for an extra second or two during testing, so voltage actually fell to around 10.1 with the NSBg2400 and to 10.6 with the NSBg3100. Trust I have a lot more to do!!! But also I figure for street a and b, since we have limited battery power, if you have an amp that is rated over 8k, the most you will get out of it is 5200-5500 watts. But I love this amp, one it is bullet proof. I am beating the hell out of it and it still is going strong, two I have not even maxxed out the capabilities of this amp (minimum power wire and minimum battery power) and it is still pushing stronger than most single board amps I have tested. And I have had tested a lot of them.

I test voltage drop at the amp. You loose about 0.5 volts in a true 1/0 wire from the batt to the amp. So that does make a big difference.

For sure the ab1000.1 will be more efficient since it's two amps so your results make sense. To bad you can't get a lower impedance and I think you could see a .5db gain from your amps Tom. And Ray still having to double up his wire from 8run to 16 will help a lot to.

lol... you have alot more testing to do. in the Street A car at ESB, he was using 1 GZ 20kw, thats 2 7kw in 1 case, and from what I got from then they said the Elt.12 is way more eff. than the GZ. They got about same power from the Elt.12 as from the GZ 20kw. but with a less volt drop.
What I have tested this weekend at the show, it was the 1st time I ever did test with box rise, volts and so on. I have done some intresting test and saw big diff. volt drop (1.5v more) with same frq. and same ohm and same score.. normaly I would have a have a volt drop of 9,4-7 and when I tested we saw 10.5-8 volt. now I have learned some thing more, and now I will use this power of info and get louder...

We did with less power (read 2KW) more score then with the GZ. Because the amplifier is much smaller. Now we have to find the right boxrise impendance (it was way to high) and get allot of power from it. From wat i can say its the nicest amplifier i have ever played with. And we have played with allot of different amplifiers. Everything is on the right place on this amplifier. Well thought about it .

Keep in mind that Ray won't get the 7000-8000w you guys with Pandas get from the same amp. His frequency is a lot lower which has a huge effect on the efficiency of the amp and what it'll produce with the given Battery. I can for sure see him getting around 6000w once dialed in which will still be the strongest amp out there.
