My brother just got his Crunch GP3000d and we were amazed at the strength of this amp. I was gonna test power output soon and I wont be surprised if I see over 4000 watts from it.

You can never have too much power.

I dont have any experience with those subs though.

I would say that you will be happy with either amp. I have the Crunch and I love it. I'm thinking about getting another one and don't plan to run any other amps for a long time. These amps are very similar and will work well with those subs no problem. It's just that for dollar per watt there is a smart choice to be made here. Believe the hype try the Crunch.

I've run mine for short periods of time at .5, and tried to run at .25 but wouldn't. It would depend on your impedence rise in order to detemine if it will run at .5 ohms. But the answer is yes it will opperate at .5 for daily driving, but just don't know how long for.

Both are EXCELLENT amps.

However on 12 volts I have a couple of friends from that have tested the sundown to be around a db louder then gp3000d. Depending on the reactive load of course.

But does that db make up for the price?

That's a hard question to answer. I orgionally was going to buy a Sundown and then came accross teh Crunch. After comparing the two and seeing Eric's results with the Crunch I decided to go with it also because it was a little bit more in my price range. I could have waited a little bit longer and got the Sundown, but I have no complaints about the Crunch at all. I just wish I had the electrical system to support it. Last I tested it with my reactive load of 1.2 ohms my impedence rise was to 3.5 ohms and I was getting 2053 watts rms out of it. My voltage was dropping from 14.6 down to 12.2, so if I had a better battery setup I could no doubt get another 700-1000 watts out of it. I also have rebuilt my box and am waiting to see if the impedence rise drops because of this.

Like I said, both are AWESOME amps and both are very capable of doing over 3k on a 12 volt system depending on impedence rise.

Can't go wrong with either one [Smile]
