I am running my bxi2006d @2 ohms and it shuts off when I turn it up loud on certain songs like hypnotize. Is it because I only have 2 batts hooked up to it? or it something wrong with the amp? Supposed to actually be stable @1 ohm. Hifonics says it is because I have a stock alt. This is the only amp that shuts down. I have tried all of my others to see if they will go into protect or anything, but none do.

Do you think mine is broken then? Is it supposed to go into protection if the voltage goes too low? If so what voltage is too low?

Check your sub. One of the coils may be shorted, or wires from the coil are shorting in terminals. I had such problem with alpine swr-1222 after repair and I had to fix it again=( My bxi1606d protects when I'm shorting the output - nice amp, but weak for me (it has low output power with low thd).

I've tried different subs. they all do it at the same volume. The one I am using now eD 19ov.2 is brand new. I don't use terminals, I ran the sp wire through the port. I guess the amp is clipping and that causes it to protect itself.

I mean terminals on the sub itself. Doesn't matter. Are there any problems when only one battery is connected to the amp?

I had that problem. It was my wires from the amp to the sub. They looked fine, but replaced with new wire and never had that problem again.
