I just bought a Hifonics Bxi2006d and am getting ready to buy 2 12" subs. The question is, should I get dual 2 or dual 4 ohm versions?
Has anyone had experience running this amplifier at .5 ohm? Or would it be safer to keep it at 1 ohm?
Thanks

Not at 16V Gavin. These amps are 14V amps and will protect at a little over 16 volts.

Also, the reactive will drop dramatically with the increase in Voltage and output power going from 13/14V to 16V and will be far too low for daily.

don't listen to john [Razz] I've run all my hifonics/maxxsonics amps low imps and never had a problem, you probably won't have warranty, but that's the best way to get rated power is run them low enough that imp rise gets you reactive of max rms rated imp [Big Grin] I'd recommend using the subsonic very close to tuning and you should be ok [Big Grin]

You car run 0.5Ohm as long you have good ventilation and don't run into clipping.Mine never shut off.
