if u can find any of the high current 2 channels for 05 that are smaller like the hk302sx. they are rated to handle 17v out the box. i have a hk602sx but i dont know of any mids or highs that would handle thsi power...

well I had a hk1998 for a while. Had two of them. They were 2ohm mono amps I ran them at 1ohm for a while. Not sure about the voltage though I think it was on 16volts. Guess just call them up. Make sure to talk to a guy named Chase I think his name is. Hes the better of the techs.

It was funny the first time I called the person who I was talking to at ma audio was WHaaaaaaaaT you can do that with that amp its only 2ohm min. I was happy when I got to talk to Chase. He was like, Its cool just make sure the voltage stay up. Thats what I think all the ma audio's need really is making sure the voltage stays up.

How many amps are you going to run and at what ohm load too. I dont think anyone asked that.

he is running 16v so i'm sure he has a bank of batterys. those amps handle 1ohm stereo. all of the ma audio amps handle lower impedence and like it.

the older HK1997 didnt like 1ohm anything above 1.3 was cool then came the 1998 and it will run daily @1ohm and burps alittle lower no problems...

a guy on another forum was trying to tell me any voltage below 13.8volts and the ma audio amps will blow them selfs up, and their one line above fea market amps,
someone people are tools

i run a pair of hk401sx amps on a pair of 18's in my truck daily, love them amps, no problems with them so far

160amp alt for now, soon to be 260amp alt, but maybe the pair of alt for daily system( alittle over kill if need be) 3 red tops, 2/0 welding wire, 5 volt pre-amp input from deck, gonna get it on the mic in a few weeks

ive got 4 hk4000ds that ill run on 16v for sure, ive got a tsunami digital voltmeter as well to make sure the voltage doesnt drop too low on music...

as far as the 2 channel amps go, im prally gonna have 6 hk898's and 2 hk298s. the 898s are for all my mids and horns, and the hk298s are for 16 tweeters lol.

and yea, im gonna have a loud ass truck to draw attention at shows n **** lol.

mine will sound good though, itll all be crossed over and EQed properly, not like alot of the people out there that give pro audio a bad name, but not EQing, crossing over, etc...

but the hk298s and hk898s will all be ran @ 2 ohm.

i actually benches one of my hk898s, its rated for 500w rms x 2 @ 2 ohm...

it only did 300w rms x 2 @ 2 ohm!

that was at 12.8v though. hopefully theyll do rated power at 14.4, or maybe at 16v if i end up running these on 16v like my hk4000ds...

also, ive talked to Chase before, cool guy, but when i called, this is what i asked him

the hk598, its a 4 ch amp. some places say 200w x 4 @ 2 ohm, some say 400w x 4 @ 2 ohm

400w rms into 4 channels seems a bit much, for an amp that can be had for less than 200 shipped new.

he told me it is 400w x 4....i dont believe it though...i still would like to bench it though to see.
