I just purchased a dual 2 ohm 15" Orion H2 and I'm having some difficulty selecting the "perfect" amp. I've searched the forums here as well as a few other sites and I'm reading a lot about the Colossus, VR2000D, Orion 2500D, PHD3 etc.

I was hoping to get some advice on what would work best with this sub in a vented enclosure. Any tips or recommendations would be appreciated, I'm looking to buy something by this weekend. Also, where else can I get decent prices/warranty on amps like this besides Ebay?

Daily driving anything that does 1200 watts or more RMS.
Competition as much power as you can give it and still not be afraid its going break.

The VR2000 is a 2ohm amp though so running 1ohm on it for daily might not be the best way to go.

ok. bare with me as I wade through the waters of designing this system. I don't want to just buy a BX1500d and call it a day. I want to go a few steps beyond that and get a high quality amp that's really going to power this sub to its full potential.

I was leaning towards the Crossfire but they've been hard to find and now I'm reading it might not be the best option. I like the idea of staying with the same brand and I can get 2500d shipped with a 1 year warranty for $600. I'm worried about it being a little too powerful for this sub though...

i ran my h2 15's daily with 4 1200d's per woofer. get the box right and you wont have any probs [Smile]

3 cubes net tuned to 33 hertz, with around 30-35 square inches of vent. I prefer the 30.

Four 1200d's per woofer, that is officially beyond my comprehension. how is that possible without blowing the sub?

also, when you ran that type of set-up, how loud did it get?

160.9 @ 40 hertz [Smile]

as for how its possible, thats what i meant about being real specific with the enclosure. Alot of testing and tuning came into play with running that setup.

The 2500D would be a fine amp to run the sub to its full potential and stay reliable given the correct enclosure.

Get the 2500D and call it a day.

come one man, 4 x 1200d's daily on a H2, what do u call daily driving? I dont see that sub being able to survive that much power. I bet u werent getting the full 1200watts out of each amp.

Do u have a video man?

daily driving = get in car, turn on deck, turn way the funk up, and jam out on my way to work or get soda or whatever. I am wondering why you are doubting this?
