I know these are in different price ranges but I'm really wondering how much of a difference is there between the two. Which one would use less current? Which one puts our more watts? Which one sounds the clearest? Which one has more speaker control? Which one is more reliable? Thanks guys.

one of the better things in life is when the local "thugsta's" pull up next to me in their airbagged nissan pick-up and they have only have 2 10's or something and they think they're rolling the loudest system around and the would never think the 95' olds cutlass supreme sitting next to them is about to roll down the windows and blow the $%#! out of their windows...hahahaha.....

i dont know much of the two but as far as specs the a7hc is 1200x1@1 ohm the 1001xis 1000x1@2 ohm or 1 ohm i would think the xtant would pull less current because you would only have to drop it into a 2ohm load to get 1000w iwould think the xtant is a better choice although i think it doesnt have as many features as the cadence as far as filtering and such

DUDE. It's not even a contest. If you can afford the xtant, then by all means, don't even look at the cadence. If cost is a concern, the Cadence is worth it, but common, if you got the cash....the xtant will eat the A7HC. The Xtant has all the crap the cadence has and then some (cept maybe the subsonic, not too sure, but it might just have one as a componet upgrade). AND it's a 1/2 ohm stable (AND WILL PROBABBLY GO LOWER!). Not to compelety knock the cadence (i own one , and it's a good amp) but, it's not really in tha same leauge.
But to cover you Q's
-Current draw- Actullay, I'd same they'd be pretty darn close. My cadence runs on stock (fairly well, too), and xtant's no slaker.
-Watts- I don't know. I'd think they'd be pretty close, but the Xtant you drop into practitcally any load you want.
-Sound- All amps sound the same.
-Speaker control- I'm assuming you mean dampning. In which case, if I remember right, the A7HC is >200. Xtants prob up there too.
-Reliablity-Couldn't tell ya. Mines been decent, and I blow stuff up for sh*ts and giggles. Xtant's always got a good rep in my heart. Cadence (first run, blue powered coated series(?)), caught on fire alot. Heh.
Hey, good luck!

If you have the extra money...buy the xtant. One of the most reliable amps on the market and doesnt even get warm at 1 ohm.

One other thing, I'm pretty sure that the xtant is a regulated amp, and it will do 1000 watts at 1 ohm, with only 11 volts of input.

I've heard some people complain about the Xtants having problems and not being serviced in a timely fashion. Those complaints were very limited and from dealers who DIDN'T sell Xtant - so take it with a grain of salt.

One of the dealers back in Lancaster, PA sells Xtant and Orion. I listened to a system powered by an XTR series amp (pretty schweet) and then by an Xtant amp of about the same power rating (Dang, the system was alive before, but it was performing like the Nitro Girls with that amp on it!!)

As aforementioned, if you can swing it, go Xtant. Cadence will make you happy, but Xtant will make you drool with jubilance.

First off, I would just like to say that I don't know very much about xtant, but I can tell you everything that you don't want to know about the A7, so here it goes. I fried mine in 1 week, it caught fire. I took it back to the store, and the store owner gave me a new one. However, cadence was not pleased with that move because they wanted to fix it. They actually fixed the amp that caught fire and sent it back to the store with the original clear bottom, which had char marks on it from the fire!!! My friend bought this amp discounted, and all it has done for him is caused problems. It cuts out under heavy burping, and it likes to heat up on one ohm loads. The one that I got after the other caught fire has been fine, but I sold it before it started giving me problems. Cadence isn't very fun to deal with and I am trying to get rid of all of my Cadence equipment, I don't want it anymore. If I were you, try to find a used us amps 200x, they may draw a little, but they have some balls, rated at 680 watts at 4 ohm mono, but I run mine at 2 ohm mono all day without a problem, maybe I'll try one ohm sometime, it'll probably work. Anyway, that is my experience with cadence class d, I just thought you would like to know.

That guy has had 1 faulty cadence product I understand that he is pissed off because he was treated roughly by cadence but. He did not mention what he was doing with the amp nor did he mention if the install was up to par. Their are a whole lot of variables that could have determined your misshap. But cadence is a GREAT company they had been very nice to my friends and their dealer is an awsome guy. I think cadence is still a great company no matter what this guy thinks. And oh an amp that "litteraly" cought on fire and was fixed is not going to be as strong as it was before no wonder your friend is having problems with it. And why did he buy that amp in the first place if he knew it was a refurbished item that cought on fire. If you were such a friend wouldnt you tell him to stay away? or did your friend realize that the amp is a good amp still thats why he bought it! Im not trying to start anything just asking some questions?

I have a xtant 121m amp, i was running two 10's off of. I don't know about the 1001x model, but where the power terminal comes out of the side of the amp, it is not bolted to the case. My ground lead has come loose from the board x2. I have to take it back and have it sent back to xtant. The speaker terminal assembly is bolted to the case, yet the power terminal assembly is not. Other than that, the amp slams and is clean I would recommend them.

If you would honestly like to know what I do with my a7, I'll tell you. I have 2 4 ohm cadence ultrashock 15's(damn good woofer, I'll give them that) in a 1.8 per sealed box. I don't play heavy rap, and my amp was professionally installed, and I ran 1/0 gauge back from the deep cycle battery just to make sure it would get enough current. I competed with the amp once. I am not saying that all the amps are bad, I have heard of some people say that their's is just fine, and thats good for them, but I'm just telling you that there are gremlins in some of those amps. A refurbished amp is not as powerful right, then why would cadence send it back??? They should have just given me a new one(which the store owner did, at HIS own will). And my friend bought the amp because he got it for 450 dollars, which is really cheap compared to msrp, he thought that if cadence fixed it, it would be fine, and at that price, who would say no?? By the way, the amp was sent back to cadence because it would cut out, they couldn't find the problem, so we put it back in the car, and it started doing it again, put it in another car, does the same thing. I have about 3 other stories about cadence that I won't get into, but I can't deal with them anymore. Anybody want to buy an A2(60x4, looks like a7), and 2 ultrashock 15's?? post here
