k... i think i know the answer to this already, but im wanting to know.. someone came into the shop today with a bose system in a maxxima or altima or something
anyhow... he wanted to know if there was a way he could BYPASS the factory amps on each speaker.. well, understandable this can be done, not a problem... but i tried to explain to him that if you did this, and put a cd player on the speakers, the deck would fry cause the speakers were 1 ohm... ive looked at them b4, they say one ohm mono..so im like.. okay, a 40x4 deck would try to put out 160x4 and voila.. there comes the magic smoke
am i right here??
he said some "reputable source online told him he could do this", so he wanted us to do it for him, and i told him it wasnt possible

make sure they're 1 ohm first and if so show him, and yes, not 1 head unit on the market can take 1 ohm

Most bose factory 'amps at speakers' systems
have .5 to 1 ohm drivers. Aftermarket
decks can't handle that.

Just tell him to quit being so frickin cheap and buy some new speakers!!

Even cheap coaxials will sound better than the factories. Also, the Bose amp contains both xover and EQ sections, so running the spkrs of just the deck will be less than impressive...
