Let say I bought about 6 $25 10" subs. The specs on them really aren't that bad...they're probably not the real specs..but anyway...let's say I did this.

I ran them off a 200.2 (I say that enough)...

what should I expect from a setup like this?

I've heard that even some of the worst subs can sound good in a multiple setup with the right amp. That's what I'm doing...I think..=0)

Lol 25$ subs. Whew what kind are they? I dont know if they well sound good but hell even the crappy subs get high #'s when in groups. Look at it this way, you wont have to really worry about blowing them expensive subs :P

Might not sound too bad. Could go loud too, if you figure the right box. How about start with one for testing and go from there.

I think they're some brand like dayton or something. They're at partsexpress.

I just figured 6 of them couldn't sound too bad...and it would go pretty loud.

they only handle like 70 rms...but if I'm using 6 of them I can easily max them out for the highest spl.

I just like to see a bunch of speakers bouncing around at one time..=0)

I've bought an $8 sub from them before!!! LOL!!

I still use it too!! It adds a nice little amount of bass to my stereo in my room. I put it in a pretty large box...and run it off my stereo amp. It handles 40 rms..but hey...my stereo only puts out about 25x4. I hooked it up to the rear channels..and left my mids and highs on the fronts.

I saw some Legacy 10" subs at a pawn shop yesterday and they were 29 bucks apiece. They looked decent, I might add. I was tempted to buy a few but my better senses prevailed. Legacy is made by Sounds Around, the same company that makes Lanzar, Pyle, and Pyramid.
I bet 30 of them would sound real nice, but powered by a good quality amp of course.

I think I'll get 8 of them so I can at least get a 4 ohm mono load...since each one is 8 ohms. Plus this will add some more cone area..and boost the rms limit up to 560 watts instead of 420.

I forgot one thing....this will be a final system for a long time. NOT a little crazy thing like Tech's "Wall O' 6x9's" idea.

I'm planning to keep this setup for a while.

Dukk...what's wrong with getting some dust covers?!?! =0) I just want to impress the idiots around here!! They'll be like "Well Hot D*** son!! You must have yourself a heap load of money." Then they'll spit out a big wad of chewin' bacci. hahaha

They should sound alright in the right box. I have heard cheap flea market subs sound good with the right box and a decent clean amp powering them.. They will just reach their limits before a more expensive sub will..

Got Bass?

They're generic units from DLC. That's dealer cost Canadian, so it should be near retail US. Now a speaker this cheap is probably more a woofer than subwoofer, but with enough of them.
The next cheapest I have found are the Patriot Import series from R/T.

I can't believe we're discussing this!

i bet u anything the daytons will not take the 70 watts RMS, a friend of mine bought the 130 watt RMS ones for temporary fronts in his house, put them in the recommended box on a 100 watt RMS amp and they couldn't handle it. i'd expect 30-50RMS for the 70 watt ones

Ok, this is a story I heard... Can't say if its true or not BUT... I was told by Gord Stansel, while I was at Mobile Dynamics, that he got 140db from 2 6" radio shack subs... It sounds whacked but he said it was true... He also said that a buddy of his used cheap subs to compete, he did get dustcaps and just glued them on so no one would laugh... It got me thinking!?!

A friend of mine had a all Radio Shack optimus car system which was decent, powered 1500 watts and change, 4 10"s and 2 5x7"s. All packed into a little Jetta

I would imagine any 2 6" hitting 140db
were playing 1khz, or higher.

I hope those subs/woofs handle at least 70 rms. If not..that amp would blow out every single one of them...even if I had 8 of them.

At partsexpress' site...it says they handle 70rms and 105 max....

hmmm....that's kinda strange looking to me...but I figured that they wouldn't lie about the power handling...i mean...isn't that false advertisement or something?

Power handling: 70 watts RMS/105 watts max *Voice coil diameter: 1-3/8" *Voice coil inductance: 1.60 *Impedance: 8 ohms *DC resistance: 6.7 ohms *Frequency response: 25-2,500 Hz *Magnet weight: 20 oz. *Fs: 25 Hz *SPL: 89dB 1W/1m *Vas: 3.50 cu. ft. *Qms: 3.15 *Qes: .40 *Qts: .35 *Xmax: 4.5mm *Net weight: 4.5 lbs. *Dimensions: A: 10-1/16", B: 9-5/16", C: 4-7/16", D: 4-3/16", E: 1-1/4".

The watts rms and max kinda looked weird though to me.

usually a speakers max is double the rms. I hope those woofs handle that 70...

I'm not disagreeing with you about the rms...

I'm still deciding on whether to order these woofs or not...

They do have a 45 day money back guarantee though.

I can test one and see if it handles enough for me. I'll run my amp off my dad's battery charger. 12 volts...6 amps= 72 watts..right?

i couldn't push much more than 70...so if the speaker sounds like it's having trouble handling it...

send 'em back....
