I appreciate the help you guys have given me already, but I'm buying some new subs today and need your opinions. First, I have a Lanzar Opti-50c, can it handle a 1/2 ohm load if not being pounded full blast all the time? Second, I'm either getting 5 or 6 MTX T-3000 12's or 15's today. What does everyone think of these subs as budget subs for an SPL system. All 6 would only cost me $350.00. Could you guys compare them to JL w0's, RF RFZ's, and Pioneer IMPP's... I'd really aprreciate it... thanks again. Dennis

The 3000s compare well to all of those, although some testing by a couple guys on here found the W0s to be the most efficient budget woof...
Don't know much on the Lanzar, except that it was supposed to handle crazy low impedances....

Thanks Dukk, as usual you are awesome. Any other ideas or opinions would be great. Dukk, for the extra $100 should I get 5 15's over 5 12's...? What numbers do you think I could post with 5 15's sealed in a Jeep Cherokee. Each one getting near their max watts... thanks again.

On that 50c 1/2 ohm mono would be something
you would do just for comps.
1/2 ohm stereo should be just fine.

If you have the space and wallet for the 15s, then go for the 15s. I've always liked 12s and 10s, but 15s are much better today than 7 years ago !!

Yes, the 3000s are a very good intro/budget sub that compares rather nicely with the W0 and others in its price range. I'm not sure which I would choose 3000 or W0, but if one were cheaper, that'd be the one I'd pick.

In other words, I don't think you'd be unhappy with the 3Ks!! Good luck I forgot Lanzar made that little beauty, nice amp

i would go with the 15's just cause their is more cone area and if you can afford go with the w0's but if your getting 6 3000 for 350 buy them

Kinda always been a 15 man.....
As many have said - if you got the room It will make a big difference in your overall output since a 15 has about 80% more cone area than a 12!

Well this is just a comment on the w0 subs. I have a friend that has 12 12w0 subs running off one PPI 2350. This is in a flat wall in the an extended cab pickup. He is hitting low 150 Db Drag. he is very happy with it since he has no bracing done to the truck. I have a few pics of it just not on the net yet if anyone is interested...
