i hope some one can beat this but im not sure!!!

the year was 1995-96 i had a big huge lt. Blue 1978 Pontiac Bonnieville 2dr w/ a 400 ci engine. I bought this kick a$$ sony tape player hooked up to the old crappy factory speakers, thats the way i run it until i found out if i hooked the + and - together on the front the rear speakers would get louder!! Well i had it like that for a while and then my freind game me some old 8" 8ohm home stereo speakers. I also bought a no name 300watt power amp!! I put two up front in the passenger side of the floorboard no box or nothing, i put the other two behind the seats in tomato boxes (hey they were free and had lots of ports for BIG bass!!) and hooked them up my big (small) amp!! Im not done yet, i hooked the amp up with the old power wire from my broken power antena switch with a spliced extention cord!!! It jammed!!! But now i know how stupid it was!!

Total Cost:
tape player:$145 w/installation from pure sound.
4 8" 8ohm home stereo speakers: FREE!!
300 watt no name amp: $20+free installation from me
old extention cord: FREE!! dog chewed it up from the last x-mas!!

At the time i was very proud of my jammin system, but now im even more proud that i dont have that crap anymore!!

Later,
Luin

My first system of my very OWN was a Concord cassette deck, concord 6.5's in the kick panel area, and concord 6x9 3ways in a homebuilt baffleboard flush to the rear seat and sides/back of the car, all in my 1956 VW Bug. NO it wasn't back in 56, it was in early 86. That little sucker was LOUD and sounded good too for what it was.

god I miss that car (don't miss the system though!). heh

Mine was 2 Kicker Comp 15's in a huge box, off 2 Crossfire CT-2200's (I think that was the model)...all in a Mercury Tracer...I could only muster 135 db's out of that poor thing, although not bad at 15 years old...

MY first sytem was in my first car, a '72 Dart Demon. It was a pull out Sparkomatic cassette head unit that I payed $89 for with Pyramid amps: 50 x 2, 75 x 2 both non bridgable and the bridgable amp was 150 x 2. I had Sony coaxials in the front and rear and Hafler 10" subs. At least I was happy with my first sytem.

My first system??.... '82 Chevy Cavalier Wagon, Pyramid Pull out tape deck (alpine look alike)Pyramid 250 watt booster EQ. 2 Pyramid 12's. That system lasted for about a week, Then I borrowed a friends guitar speaker cabinet (4- 12's) and stuck it in there with a Pyramid PB 300 G amp. This was back about 9 years ago... been hooked on car audio ever since.

I was a big Pyramid fan for along time, actually the first couple of sound off's I ever went to I had Pyramid. I even Had Pyramid in the Blazer when I first got that. (4- 15's, 8's,5's Horn tweeters, 2 Pyramid 4 channel amps, and a Pioneer CD Player) This thing Rocked! It would do 145-147's. Not bad for back in '93-94.

A JL 10W1 in a ported box off of a PPI 2025AM. The Eclipse ECD-410 powering Clif Designs 5 1/4s in my 300ZX. I saved for a long time for that system.

my first big system was nine years ago. damm that is a long time. I had a 91 camaro that was new back then. i picked it up at the dealer ship and drove it to the stereo shop that day and started taking it apart and four months later i pulled it out of the shop with four kicker 18's,four earthquake pa4300(big ass amp), eleven stoway 800 amp batteries. three 210 amp alternators, four ppi a600 and alot of mids and highs. It was all done in vinyl, had motorized amp racks neon and plexigass. For back in its day it was pretty cool.

In 1986-87 I owned a 79' Plymouth Horizon hatchback.
The system consisted of a Sentrek "250watt" graphic eq/power booster, 2 8" full range home cabinets and for a source unit I used an Aiwa 3 band graphic eq "walkman". Stereo mini plug to RCA adapter It was loud for the time!
Well someone thought is was cool because it all ended up getting stolen. I was really pissed about the Setrek, it was my friends, I was only borowing it >
