Problem: Mitsubishi eclipse, aftermarket panansonic head unit already hooked up, (i didn't put it in) now this guy wants me to put in a sub box and an amp. Well, he chose two jensen 10" (eeeew?!) and a Depthcharge (eeeeeewwww again) amplifier. So i started putting in the amp and subs. Everything is going as ususal, until its time to turn it on. Heres where the problem starts. Turn it on, nothing. Check the ground, fine. Check the power, steady 13.5 volts, fine. speaker wire, fine. So that inly leaves one thing, the remote turn on. Now, there was some previous wiring, from the guy before. Two wire left, one of which is connected to the rca's (obvious turn on) and another skinny little wire that could be a turn on. Hook up one of them, nothing, hook up the other, nothing. Sorry so long, please help me, I'm desperate. Any and all answers/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

pull the deck and check the turn on lead on the deck, see if its even hooked up, worst case hook it up to the extra wire on the rca's, and hope the guy who worked on it before didn't get anything pinched or shorted along the way back to the amp, also give you a chance to see what the deck wiring looks like, amp fuse, solid ground, get a multimeter if you can, always helps out

I would run a jumper wire from the positive terminal of the amp oer to the remote turn on to make sure it isn't the amp. That way you at least know if the amp is bad or the remote turn on is not hooked up.

thanks you guys who helped.I pulled out his deck and discovered that our local car toys decided not to hook up the rca's or the remote turn on wire, even though this guys told them to. So anyways, all is well and bumpin'
Thanks,
M@tthew
