Well, what are you hooking the 4 guage up to? I went to your SD page... I hope you arn't running that cadence off of 8 guage! If you are, I'm suprised your car hasn't caught fire. If you actually are running F'n EIGHT gauge to that cadence, I think you better re-wire 4 gauge to that thing tonight! I'm suprised it dosn't go into protect. You've got a good ground, that's for sure. Upgrade to 4 gauge. If you've got the cash, run possitive AND negative 4 gauge from the battery. Then you can also do a dual ground in the trunk, or wherever you're grounding now. Don't your wires heat up real bad? I think you'll get a noticable difference with 4 guage, but, it may strain your alt more. I don't know about the alt part.

Actually bigger wire should be less resistance, therefore a lesser drain on your alternator. That's why a light bulb works - the high resistance of the coil heats it up and causes it to glow/give off light, and is prevented from simply burning by the gas inside and uses electricity. Same thing in a run of power cable. If more electricity is run through it than it can handle its resistance grows higher and it heats up and eventualy burns through the plastic jacket and starts a fire.

yeah...it actually equals a little less than 4 gauge, but it's fairly close...

Once settled, the fully adjustable seat is very comfortable, the plane leaves and arrives on time without a single problem, the in-flight meal is wonderful. You try to tell customers of the other airlines about the great trip, but all they can say is, "You had to do what with the seat?"

You need to shop around, alot of places sell good 4 Ga for $1 a foot try the internet or somthing! and you could hear a difference in sound by goin w/ bigger especially if you have a long run and are pulling more than around 50or60 ampsand go to wallmart and get a 30 dollar battery and mount it in the trunk!

Pretty complicated. Before doing that, I'd suggest cramming the biggest mofo battery you can fit under your hood. You should be able to get close to 1000Cranking Amps under that hood.

Actually that just gave me an interesting idea. I want to have a battery in the trunk, but the only practical way to do that is to get 2 of the exact same battery so i wouldn't need an isolator. (correct me if i'm wrong). Would it make sense to go to Wall-Mart and get 2 of those $30 batteries? mount one up front as my starter. Then, put the second one in the trunk and connect my 1/0 gauge wire to it and then from there to my amp?

Yep yep, I think that'd work, but remembr fuses, grounding, and remember that they MUST be dry-cell, becuase you don't want to have anything inside of your vehicle besides a sealed dry-cell. ...eh, I'm having a brain fart... when you use two 12Volt batteries, won't that make the system 6 of 24 Volts depending on how you wire them? Do you NEED an isolator to keep it at 12Volts?

If you wire it in series it would be 24 v, Paralell would still be 12 volt.
