Well I was in a little dilemma with my new box, I want to try a smaller size for my alums so I can slave another DEI to them. I know that theoretically a box can be better sealed if I just drill a hole and run the speaker wire through the box to the amp. Then just silicone the little hole up and the box is sealed real well.
I wanted to put brass screw down terminals however, and was wondering if it really would make that much of a difference? I want my box to leak as little air as possible.
So basically does anyone know if there is any basis to the fact that drilling a hole and siliconing it up is better than screw down terminals?
and to answer your question. just silicone the crap out of the terminal, stick it in, and screw it tight. it'll be just as good. only it'll have more resistance compared to just a wire (not like it's going to be noticeable)
