hello,
Is power acoustiks a good company? are there products (amps in this case) any good? who would they compare to in the industry?
the reason I'm asking is because the area 51 line of round amps look kick azz but do they actually put out there rated power, cause I'm curious about the 1200x2 area 51 model.

Thanks
BUBBA

Your not going to see anywhere close to 1200x2. That is probably a peak rating, thus they claim 600x2, and you may have 300x2 of usable rms power. As far as quality, I havent used Power Acoustic, so I cant bash it, but I actually believe that for a cheap amplifier they are fairly reliable. Just dont expect that kind of power out of one.

Hey, what about the audiobahn A2300HCX, check out the website, it is suppose to push 2 x 1200w RMS @ 1 ohm, or 1x 2400w RMS @ 1 ohm.

it will push a little more than 2400rms... most people that have them get about 2600rms out of them. i had a a2200hc. it rated 1600x1 @1ohm i got over 1800rms out of it.

power acoustik....they need high output alts just to get ok wattage. my first amp was the Power acoustik 1ohm series 2400.2 i think it was rated 1600-2000rms at 1ohm. i got 1300rms at 1ohm and 1700 at .5ohm but it wasn't very clean power. bad thd...

i haven't had a chance to mess with the a2300hcx, but i hada 2200hc and it was a tight and it pushed over its rated power. i have a friend that has 2 alum12x's with a 1800d...that is a great sounding system. great sq, very clear, loud ,deep..they are solid subs.

I have had three power acoustic amps. they do not push the rated power but were really reliable. Not bad for the prices. Just my .02

I had an Apache 960. It pushed about half the power it claimed and got awfully hot too. But it never did shut down on me.

look the stuff is crap and is a wls rating (when lightning strikes) they are of a flea market quality. i hate saying it, but if you can't afford a real amp, one that is made to real world specs at alocal car audio dealer (one that stocks quality gear) then find a real amp on ebay. one that isn't bold letters and underlined stating 100 megawatts of power for $29.99
