spend the money on the best security installer in your market. he should be able make it more bulletproof than your average installer and if your are not budgetarily handicapped get an alpine 8081. i really enjoy its features plus its easy to use. the only downfault is a three year warranty and the measly 4 outputs unless you add the expander.

The 8081 is sweet but not worth the $$ in my books. I like the Ungo 8300 for having a butt load of features and not costing too much money. Plus it's probably the last on the planet with a vehicle motion sensor....

OK, old school stuff here... My personal favorite, even though it's old as the hills.. Alpine's 8040. Had the "perfect" radar sensor. Never had one fail, or false. Not feature laden... one of the first to have sensor adjustment on remote.

I agree with CV stroker, the best security system is the one that was installed properly, taking attention NOT TO PUT THE MAIN UNIT UNDER THE DASH. A proper installation can and often does take between 4-6 hours for a standard install. That means soldering the starter kill wires, and installing the relay for it UNDER THE HOOD. Put the main unit somewhere in the trunk, preferably behind a panel, ask your installer for a wiring diagram, including the color codes of the wires he HAD to extend to the back of the car. And the location of the sensors, should you move, sell the car, or give it to your mechanic, they will NEED that information as will you, should you wish to add, adjust etc.. Think, how much is the car worth? How much are the contents worth? How much are you willing to spend to PROTECT it all? Take a short-cut,= GIVE a short-cut to the thief.
