Hi, I'm looking to build a bass management system for my home theater and stumbled upon this site....
My Yamaha RX-Z1 reciever only has bass management options for "large" or "small" with no crossover frequency options - its fixed at 90hz. The Paradigm studio reference speakers I use seem to sound more harmonic crossed over around 70hz or not at all.
I had thought about routing all bass to the "mains" in the Z1's bass management(mains=large; LFE/sub=no), then running the mains "pre-out" to a bass management(DIY unit possibly) unit to extract the bass/LFE, then back into the "pre-in" for the mains (and sending the extracted bass/lfe to the sub amp and then out to my dual 12 inch subs). Any ideas on where to start? I'm not very experienced with electronic fabricating but can learn quite fast if I need to! ;-)

a 70Hz dip in the response curve helps out with having a peak when listening in a room with 8ft ceilings.

Are you suggesting that I attentuate 70hz via an EQ instead of my bass management idea? I do use a behringer FBQ24/96 as a parametric EQ only. And I have attentuated 60hz down quite a bit since it showed a 7 db spike around that area.
