the 3 most common causes
1)bad ground
2)bad rca's or placement of them
3)pioneer headunit

seq maybe hook the ground to the HU chassis or maybe ground the rca's...

A couple of things... Flip the 3 way switch down. Adjust from there. When using the SEQ/PEQ it has a lot more gain with the main switch up, but use it down, and turn the gains up on the amp, crossover, ect. 2nd--- Did you tune the 2 trimmers yet (small holes up towards the top left corner) ? Maybe you have them up too high. 3rd--- Check to make sure the ground hooked up on the RCA's. Sometimes when people make the RCA's to the plug, they forget to hook up the ground to them. SEQ/PEQ plugs are handmade by the customer/installer. They do not come with RCA's on them. The cust/inst wires the RCA's on.
If you need more info on the SEQ/PEQ, let me know. I have been repairing them and using them for 20+ years now. Still have 6 or 7. Excellent EQ...

Zapco still sells them. Occasionally you can get them on Ebay for $50 or so. Price from a Zapco dealer is about $89 retail.
