my guess would be that it's likely to be noisy. No experience with it, just a personal bias based on some experience with newer dei equipment.
But hopefully someone who's used this piece can give you some real info.

No the deq230 should be an old piece from the 90's line of ppi goods. I have good success with them. Unless there making under the new ownership then I wouldn't mess with it. But the older ones were great!
