I have been looking into adding the maxxlink to our system as well - it is exactly half of this setup(2 dual 2 15's and 2 4kw's)

don't mean to thread jack....

David, you already saw what I went through with the links. IF your gonna run them un-stapped, get the Y-splitter and use the positive line/plugs only!! If strapping, the slave amp goes to the negative plugs. I'm sure you know this already! lol As for adjusting, maybe you said it already but just for the sake of it,

1:Turn all your volumes down
2: use the 65Hz test tone on the link to gain match your amps or if you know your freq, use that.
3:turn your HU up to your burp level and put it on repeat.
4:Get your DMM and touch your output plugs and write down that voltage number.
5:On the maxx-link, everything is set to it lowest level. pause the HU and plug the jacks into the maxx-link, un-pause the HU, using your DMM's again, plug them into your output sockets on the link, once you get a reading start to turn the INPUT knob up until it matches the HU voltage. ok your set

6: Your amps:
some say test loaded some say un-loaded.. that is up to you but. plug your amps in and Connect your DMM to the speaker terminals, get a reading, now turn your gain pots up to your desired voltage. ok amps are set.
7: Once all this is done, NOW, use your output pot on the maxx-link to control your 4 amps. This is what I did for a customer here and everything worked great, and he was not strapping either.

I'm sure someone will jump in and correct me if I'm wrong. AND, if you have an o-scope, that would be great, now you can see when your clipping. [Wink]
