I'm sure will help you find a way to gain but consistant numbers is also one of the benefits of the Maxx-Link.
This was not by design but it makes sense and nearly everyone had the same comment about consistant numbers.

On my unit I followed all the directions and set it up by the book... then I found that if I decreased the input sensitivity and actually gave it a bit more juice on my HU I gained SPL.
Not sure why... but I did

Ya, I've seen this also. We are of course very familiar with the results on our amps so the results on other manufactures products may very vary a bit. Some times you just need to experimant a little bit and sure enough, you will see the benefits.

Got my Maxxlink in to use on my 2 mm4000.1's. Very easy to hookup and nice unit. I dunno if it helped any dbs or not. Still have to play with it some more. Neighbors don't like music @ 150+ db.

I have not seen a gain from a maxx-link. I accually saw a .3db loss so I must be doing something wrong... Has anyone used a maxx link with 2 DD z1's and seen the same or higher numbers in a street application. If so could you please PM me and tell me what I am missing out on.

Have you had a chance to mess with it more with your Z1's? See any gains yet?
