Meade--

On the phase tracks--try and find a CD that has the "my voice is in phase" "my voice is out of phase" at different frequencies. If you use the one with the lady's voice it is possible to still have a phase issue. I have a disk that breaks it down to below 250hz, 250-5kh and 5khz and up. That alone has helped me set my truck up. If you can't find it, let me know and I can make you a copy.

Winslow---I've found the problem---it wasn't so much rattles as it was a blown midbass driver. I swapped the midbass from the driver's side to the passengers (and vice versa) and the rattles went with the speaker. I'm building new kicks for new drivers right now.

Nice post. I just ordered three. [Big Grin]

I contemplated the H701 for a while, but the way it looks like Alpine's getting out of the headunit business I couldn't justify it. My 7998's only getting older. Besides, I can hook two 360's up to my Pioneer P980BT. I can't do that with the 701.

^Where did you hear that Alpine is getting out of the HU business? I have a hard time believing that.

Alpine's gettin' out of the HU buis.?!?!
Can't be true. Where'd you hear that?
Is there a HU on the planet that competes with the F#1 Alpine puts out? Martin

P.S. Calusa - why would you need 2 H701's?

Martin,

My point wasn't that you would want 2 H701's. It was that the 2 360.2's that I need to run a 4 way setup will connect to my Pioneer nicely. But it wouldn't matter how many H701's I had, they won't work with my Pioneer.

Mmm, no. The Alpine with the C701 controller will work with any radio on the market provided the radio as RCA outputs.

Hi all
im new to this fourm and its the firt time i have seen this processor,it looks like a cool bit of kit.i am using a audio control dqx through a PG Titanium 900.7 multi channel amp feeding Image dynamics cd1 mini horns, Dyanaudio M150 mids and a 10" JL audio W6.
my question is can you run 1 pair of rcas from the headunit in to it and can you then run a active system from there or do you have to run the the 3 sets (frount, rear and sub) of rcas into it. also is the sound quality better than the audio control?

Meade sorry to take this off yout original topic but it is necessary in this case...

Calusa Custom Concepts seems to be under the impression that Alpine is getting out of the Head Unit business. This simply is not the case as to my reply in his other thread.

To comment on a company's future without knowing their business plan is just poor form.

Further to this there seems to be a grave misunderstanding of the capabilities of the PXA-H701 processor, not to mention the upcoming PXE-H650, but once again this is not the place for these discussions.

I would simply say that people should be aware that much of what is said are only opinions, which are more than fine, but I would encourage people to do their own research.

Even call the manufacturer directly if there are questions.

Sorry All just wanted to set the record straight... [Wink]

thanks [Smile]

man ive been goin thru a jazz phase again lately....its like my morning routine on the way to work early in the morning and since i tuned my system last week i SWEAR i could hear the musicians fingers picking the strings and this one song i could actually hear the sound of the air coming thru the horn(trumpet, sax whatever it was)....not sure if that makes sense but it was a different sound, like they are in the room.

Im sure i could use a session with an experienced SQ guy to help clean it up even more but just the little bit of tuning i did made such a big difference...

Very nice lineup!

The 360.2 hooked up and dialed to the dedicated upper mid setup (rainbow + 500.2)is money man...money.

Actually I have a 500.2 that was suppose to get hooked up to a l7 12.

It's awesome what you can throw at a driver as long as you have a great x-over to maintain control.
I definately want to have a good listen if I'm lucky enough to see your beast in person.

OK so the next question is. Which one is better?
1. alpine H701
2. Audiocontrol DQXS
3. Rockford Fosgate 360.2
Reason I'm asking is I'm in the market and had my eye on the DQXS but I don't want to make the wrong choice. Thanks! Shannon
