Folks,
I run a PC in my car along with an 8140 that I've just bought. I have an EPX2 with 28 band card that I'm tempted to use for EQ duties, however I want to try and use the PC instead of the RDAT (!).

The protocol between the RDAT and EPX2 is RS232, that much I know, however I don't know the parameters for the link (baud, stop bits, parity). I can find this out by probing, I guess, but does anyone know?

More importantly, does anyone know the application protocol between RDAT and EPX2, that is the commands that are used? I'd rather not reverse engineer this as it'll be complex.

I asked RF Tech Support, and they recommended asking here. I hope Wayne or someone else may be able to help [Big Grin]
Thanks in advance,
Nick.

I know the person who helped design it was Wayne Harris. Try emailing him.

Thanks [Smile]

I dropped Wayne a mail a couple of weeks ago and haven't heard anything, so wondered if it was better to post on the board. I realise he's way busy with far too many other interesting - not least current - projects but am still hopeful he can help.

I'll drop him another mail, I just hope I don't annoy him too much [Smile]

Thanks (I think) folks [Wink]

No reply from Wayne, I guess he's busy and, possibly, doesn't know which would seem strange.

Ho hum: looks like out comes the protocol analyser [Big Grin]

why not just use the RDAT? unless your buttons are broken it's a pretty easy unit to control.
