I have a kicker x3i crossover sitting around and i thought about hooking it up and i was woundering if it would help or hurt me in an spl only setup. Right now i have a pioneer deh p6300 head unit 4 mtx 1501ds and 2 treo tsx15.22. Any info would be great.

you just wouldn't need the front two portions of the crossover.

There is a good chance that if it has a gain control, it could act as a line driver and raise your RCA line voltage. (which helps!)

Outboard x-overs usually work better than hu/or amp integrated x-overs. But it also depends on the build quality of the equip. your using and what kind of controls the outboard x-over has.
