soundstream bx10 is a cheesy knockoff of the epicenter, which imo makes anything but mexican mariachi, which has no real low bass, sound like crap, so both units, sound like crap. There are people who will tell you different'y of course, but my experiences lead me to believe your money could be better spent, like on a basscube. The pheonix gold piece is a glorified bass boost, most amps only boost at forty five hz, but with the basscube you can boost anywhere from 30 to 80 hz i believe is the range. It makes tuning a ported box, and taming the resanant frequency of your vehicle so much easier. The bx10 and epicenter are reconstruction tool, while the basscube doesn't change the sound, just amplify the frequencies of your choice.

basscube outshines both other choices you mentioned, by a lot in fact.

i guess i prefer a little boost over synthesis, maybe i shouldn't be imparting my views, but he did ask for opinions. I like my music loud and low, but if the artist didn't intend it to be low, then why make it so, except for the fun of it maybe. Personally i base opinions on what i would be happiest with, over a long period of time. I know i'd have fun with the epicenter, but i also know that i'd get a lot more use out of a basscube.

The original epicenter was used to
restore or add bass to software that the engineers removed during production...Thats one of its reasons that it had to have a full range signal to work. The bass cube allowed you to
boost a certain frequency...not a wide group of frequencies.

I thought the EPICS where only used back in the day do get decen bass out of Tape decks, all I have ever seen them do with a CD source in add noise.

The PG Bass cube is a RCA level AMP W/ bass boost and I belive 8 volt outs
