I owned an xv-1 back in the late 80's early 90's sold it but now I still have 2 power 650 mosfets a power 300 mosfet I have a punch x I got with some stuff don't know how old it is and I just sold the last of my HD amps I love the vintage RF amps I probably hang on to one of the 650's just to have but I might sell the others. People always ask what do you have in that thing the look on there face when I show them equipment that was made before they born is priceless.

If I am correct by your username you are 34. I am 35. We are talking same gen. I can totally relate to your statement about priceless! Kids nowadays always are in amazement when I crank my system up. Definately puts a smile on your face and a chuckle deep within with pride! All I can say is "the good ol' days". Ahhhhh, how I long for that era again!

You said it! I am trying to put together a little system for a mazda ext cab p/up I have I would like to use both 650's I only have 2 alpine type R 12's not my first choice but got both of them for $50 so what the hell. Maybe if I find 2 more type R's I will run 2 subs to each and see what happens. People thought I was nuts for getting both 650's but I remember them as untouchable back in the day something a kid could only dream about. I will start on my new system as soon as I am done with my wifes.

I have a PA1-HD processor. I recently pulled it out of the attic after having it stored away for a few years. I had it running in my Mercedes which had a Kenwood Head unit which ran to the the PA1-HD, then to a Sony XM-ES 3546 amp. Also, I had an Old-School Punch 150HD which drove 2 Punch 15 inch subs, which I had mounted IB on the rear deck of the car...(1991 560 SEC). The subs were mounted on a custom made 1" MDF rear deck. The PA1-HD fed the front-end comps..(Infinity Reference mids, and Pioneer 4X6's) as well as the Punch 150HD...(from the low-pass outputs). It was the best sounding system I ever had in a car. The car is currently being restored, and the system was dismantled. I recently took the PA1-HD out and used it as a line driver for my Alpine 7998's sub-outs to my Arc Audio MX-3, then to my PG Tantrum 1200.1...man...I am so impressed, that I am now looking for anothter one. I have been posting threads on the various forums looking for another one. I bought a PA-2, but don't like it as much. Great piece of equipment.

I have a question for my fellow RF Old schoolers. What do you think my 2 Punch 150's compare with 1 Power 300 and 1 Punch 45? Close to a Power 650?
