Has anyone had experience with this unit? What are your impressions?
Do they still make them?

Thanks,

I am looking for a low cost RTA solution to help tune a 1/3 octave eq

Why not just find a shop and pay an hour or two fee to tune your car?

i have one of these units, very nice and easy to use. you'll need to get the optional high spl mic if you plan on reading db levels in excess of 130.

but, if i had to buy one i would get the new audio toolbox. it costs around $1200 new. you get an rta, 175db spl mic, oscilliscope, tone generator, and multimeter all in one plus some other cool stuff. very accurate too.

the reason I am looking into getting one is this:

If I need to tune its either at a show or usually late at night when I get everything in the car.

I have not looked into going to a shop, but I am thinking they would probably charge $50 an hour, if not more.

So over a year if you visit a shop a couple times at 2 hours a time, an RTA could very easily pay for itself, assuming I can locate one for around 800 or less.

THanks for the input
