I am going to have a 3 way setup in my truck, God help me, and I will be needing a crossover. I have found a Coustic XM5, I have read and searched and I have found this unit to be very highly recomended. What, for a reasonable price(under 100) would be better for a 3way setup that needs lowpass of subs, bandpass for 8's as midbass, and highpass of components? Variable would be nice.

I just read the post by geofgarcia(sp?), and found that to be very helpful, seems the Coustic is the way to go.

I've got a AudioControl 4xs for sale that will do what you want it to do, and it would allow you to bi-amp the components as well(It can be set up as a 2 channel 4 way x-over). Check it out at www.audiocontrol.com , I'm asking $75 + shipping. Drop me an e-mail if you are interested.
As to the Coustic crossovers, I've owned 2 an xm-3 and an xm-1e and both were great. I also like the Memphis cx35 (18&24 db/oct slopes, remote bass gain, and cont. variable). Hope that helps.

da-da-da hey whats up!
I got the Phoenix Gold MX3i (for $75) and it does the job ok...I think if I had the patience to wait for a Coustic Xm5 I'd be happier!!! I did tons of research into these damn things and I just couldn't get any info out of the coustic people, and couldn't find any online either plus thanks to ebay I got a good deal on the pG one! but the coustic is better because it has seperate controls for the lowpass! (the pg has the low pass set to the high pass for the bandpass

anyway best of luck! which are you using for your 8's?
I just saw some guy on here selling 18 ppi pro's 8's for 60$ each!!! I myself got a pair of the IDQ dvc 8's and am running them 200x2 in kicks in my manual honda accord 2 door!

Good luck!

THE COUSTIC IS VERY NICE. I USE THE XM5E IN MY TRUCK. HAD IT FOR 4 YEARS. IT ALSO HAS SWITCHABLE 6 OR 18 DB SLOPES, BUTTERWORTH. REMOTE SUBBASS CONTROL, 12 DB BOOST FOR YOU BASSHEADS AND A CENTER CHANNEL MONO WHICH FOR ME IS A USELESS FUNCTION.
YOU COULD ALSO GO THE CHEAP WAY AND USE THE AMP CROSSOVER WITH WHATEVER OTHER CROSSOVER YOU HAVE TO ACHIEVE A BANDPASS.
