What can it be used for? I have heard it has some kind of processor that makes your mids come alive. Is this the right thing for me? I am running a 4" and tweeter of a passive x-over and a 6-1/2" (midbass)off another amp with the amps x-over

depends on the amp. Some amps have internal xovers with a 12 db slope... pretty good. could sound better with a 24 db slope, which the audiocontrol 24xs has. The audiocontrol also gives you more flexiblility, you can bandpass certain signals, (speakers you only intend to give midbass to, high pass them, for tweets, and so one. But if you dont use these things, the xover on the amp is good enough.
