Can anyone tell me the main differences between these two units? I'm interested in buying one or the other, just don't know if I need the 5506, oh I have all the amps I need if that matters, I had a clarion 9375 before. Also what are the prices of the 5506 and the 5504 new and what do they go for used? Thanks for any help.

Main diff. is voltage. The 5506 does 8v out, the 5504 does 5v. Also, the 5506 gold plated RCA's, audiophile-grade component parts, and copper plated chassis. I think the 5506 retailed somewhere between 600 and 800... can't remember though. You can probably find a good deal on a new one now since they were disco'd if I remember correctly...

I also saw a picture of the new 55090... DVD player, cd player, dts decoder, plus the usual top of the line stuff found in the 5504 and '06. BTW - I've got an old 5504 and love it! Got it new for $450 Steve
