Hey everyone, Right now i have the Pioneer DEH-P6200 and i like it OK. I wonder if any one has had experience with the 6200 and any Clarions in the $300-500 range and which one did they like better and why?

i have the 7200, but have yet to install it. but i guarantee you that the pioneer looks a whole lot cleaner and crisper. you can see it buetifully at almost any angle and it's bright. the clarion (i not gonna bash the technical aspects of the HU, as i have never owned one) to me, looks like ass when put side & side with any of the new Electrolumenecent (spelling?) pioneer HU's.
plus pioneer's canadian HQ is down the road from me.

hey man, we were having fun bashing clarion. anyways, as i said before i have used nither, except for playing with the instore displays. i do own a pioneer though, just not hooked up yet (taking up space in the closet). all agree that the new pioneer's look was better than the clarion. you all know they do. that's all i can say cause i have know knowledge of anything else. unless you wanna know what any alpine looks like after being thrown from a moving vehicle at 80mph into a brick wall. and yes this can be done, for all you guys saying how can you drive a caar 80mph at a wall and not hit it. you haul ass down a road with buildings on it near the road. you hang out the window, and heave that friggin alipine as hard as you can at the side of one of those buildings. if it hits, blam, that babies toasts, if you miss, she's a skippin for long way. i missed twice, third times a charm. yes, i a weird, twisted individual.

I've never found a Pioneer that I liked. I'd take a Clarion or Alpine any day over Pioneer. Simplicity, sound quality and reliability. Pioneer is too "gadgety" to me.

The largest reason is the considerably lower rate of failure. I sold pioneer for a couple of years and it was ok. But we then picked up the Clarion (& proaudio) line and have MUCH better rates with it.
The feature set on the pioneer is hard to beat, but I find that most of those features are never used. I also like the knobs on the proaudio decks, they are about perfect.
And a last, but major concern...that easy EQ...you install two amps & a couple of subs, set all the gains while flat....customer Joe goes booming around and then bumps that easy eq to "powerful" and kaboom....bye bye subs!
I've seen it toooooo many times.
