i went out and bought a pioneer deh-p7200 on an impulse a few weeks ago. i had been researching the entire pioneer line, and was just waiting for the new line to hit my area. now i'm regreting buying the 7200 and am wanting the premier 720. the major difference's are deh-p7200 RCA Preouts (x2 pair) (Front + Subwoofer or Front + Non-Fading) (2V)
deh-p720 -Hi-Volt RCA Preouts (x3 pair) (Front/Rear + Subwoofer) (Non-clipping 4.8V max) -DFS™ Alarm+ (Includes Starter Disable Output and Keyless Entry Monitor for Instant Deactivation) -Wireless Full-Function Slim Remote Control
those are the major differences, the preimier deh-p720 cost about $40 more than what i paid for the deh-p7200. the buggers up'd the price right after i got it.
should i bother exchanging them, and just keep what i got.
it will be pushing a fair size system earthquake ph-d2 or Mmats d300hc and a PPI (or the like quality) pushing the fronts (about 100x1) maybe more.

As far as the sound of the two decks they are most likely identicle. If there is an option that the premier has that you are really interested in then you might want to get that one. All in All sit down compare the two decided what you would really be happiest and make the decision. Keep in mind that most people say the head unit in the most important part of your system and that if you are satisfied with it you will have an excellent foundation for you complete system. YOu'll make the right decision I'm sure.
