Okay, got a couple of simples questions for you all. I'm driving a 91 Pontiac LeMans. If no one knows what a LeMans looks like, it is comparable to that of an Escort. I have a Clarion DRX6375, it is the base ProAudio Cd receiver from three years ago. Well, the two problems that I have are... When it has been played for a while, ie road trips, the CD starts to skip and basically shuts down. I think this is due to the fact that laser is out of alingment, but I am not sure. The other problem is that the unit itself is very sentsitive to bumps on the road. It always skips. I'm really not sure what to do about this little problem. If any one has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks a lot.

well.....you're long trip problem is probably due to heat, not laser alignment. your skpping problem is due to installation....
my advice for you...is to goto your local shop, and get yourself one of their steel frame install kits, the deck will mount very solid to it....then use a back strap and mount the back of the kit to your car...you shouldn't have a problem with skipping after that...as far as cooling, you'll have to be creative. I've seen people put little fans behind their dash to cool their deck, sometimes just puting a venting tube from from the deck to the bottom of the dash will help.

I agree. Heat is the probable cause. A small fan can help here. Also, venting UPWARDS can help.
Do as he suggested for the remount.
