in an earlier thread, I was reading about somebody that could tweak head units. I've just got an Alpine 7840, and I was considering upgrading. but if I can get this one tweaked a bit, I would love to keep it. can anyone out there do that sorta thing....lower internal resistance, disconnect the internal amp, lower the preout resistance, beef up the power supply, increase the preout voltage....just clean it up I guess. any or all of the above would make me much happier. I know its a lower model deck and all, but I like it, and it does everything I want. please email me or respond here if you or someone you know, can do this for me. thanks,

blake

Chris Lewis at Pyramid Audio in TX (I think) is the guy who works on the 7909's. Do a search in the general conference for Chris Lewis. Some more info should be there.

Yes, Chris Lewis is Mr. Alpine. He can work on almost all their units and make them better.
