Well, first off, i just got my deck stolen. My fault, im not mad about it, because i commited the three no nos.. unlocked, unarmed, undetatched... but i AM mad about my cds..

anyhow, on to my dilemna
I LOVED my pioneer, but was thinking of changing.. no reason, just to change.

-What i liked about it
* Great looking display
* Subwoofer control, with crossover (usually set to 80Hz
* Internal high pass (if i used it w/ my amp xover, i get 24 db/octave@ 80 Hz)
* EEQ, FIE (like FIE to cut the sound from the back when no ones there, but can put it back in when ppl are riding)
* Flip Face made for large display

-What i didnt like about it
* Buttons VS Knob
* Flip face was a nuisance
* Display farily hard to read in sunlight

Now, im looking to possibly do a different deck, hell, i may just replace it with the 6000 if i cant make a decision.
NO sony, NO kenwood NO eclips(sony i hate, kenwood decks look like ass, small buttons, all buttons same shape and size, ergonomic nightmare, and why anyone buys a cd deck w/o detatchable face is beyond me)

Anyone have any opinions.. i was kinda thinking about the clarion 8675, Nak 45Z, Alpine.. not familiar with models. How are the new panasonic decks, the one i used to have (cqdp875) was very flat sounding, didnt have any clarity to it at all, and yes i could tell the diff. when i switched to my Pioneer deh635.

thanks so much, feel free to contact me on icq or aol

We've been selling the 8675 (and 8575 before it) and have been happy with the performance. Good SQ, GREAT ergonomics (knob!), clear & legible display, good internal amp, etc.

If you want better, the 9575 is all of those and a LOT more!

Pioneer 6000/7000 series. A KNOB finally!
RF 8330 or 8340 - prefer the 40 cuz of the flip face.

That new Pioneer 8000 deal - Double din and a real home receiver volume knob!!! Dang!

Love the Nak but fixed sub out...

So i went to Cols. car audio, advanced audio, HH gregg, and circuit city today... circuit city sucks, they had their entire car audio rooms torn apart, non functional.. nice job, morons. HHgregg...... well, theyre just HHgregg.. CCA, they had their display torn out too, putting it in a new store. the guy was cool, but didnt know much about anything except sony, so he didnt help much.
they had a brochure of the alpines, and the one i saw in there was a CDA7845, or a CDA7941. What is the the major differences between these units, and WHO has one for sale, and how much.

im pretty much narrowed down to
one of the alpine models, clarion 8575 or 8675, or that RFX8230 in crutchfield.. which is probably the best deal of all.. 200 bucks!

thanks again folks

My vote is Alpine. They sound good, look good, and work good.

Thanks MiniRam
i sent out my money order for the RFX8230 today
176 bucks, shipped!
i can swing that. I WAS going to get the pioneer 7200 from work, i can get it for 236, but hell, id rather be unusual.. i bet no one i know has ever even seen an RF deck.

thats why i wanted a NAK, BUT..... as dukk pointed out, damn fixed sub output.. ugh, why do companies do that!!? why even put a non fading output on the friggin deck, if its not going to be adjustable.. retards

im off my rant
good bye
